Which bank has been the least painful for foreigners recently?

I need a basic account for salary, transfers, and app payments, and I’m trying to avoid the classic “come back with one more document” cycle. I keep hearing different things about Hana, KB, Woori, and NH depending on the branch. If you opened an account this year, which bank actually worked without making it weird? Bonus points if they were normal about name formatting and phone verification.

Hana still seems to come up the most for foreigners, but I would trust the branch more than the logo. Branches near universities, big office areas, or immigration-heavy neighborhoods usually have staff who have seen the document mix before, so the whole thing feels less like you are teaching them their own process. I would also bring your work contract or school paper even if they did not mention it on the phone, because a lot of Korean bank openings get saved by one extra piece of paper at the counter.
