While waiting for your ARC, what parts of daily life were actually blocked for you?

I keep meeting new arrivals who get told, "just wait for the ARC," but the annoying part is not always obvious until you're already here. What was the first thing that genuinely became difficult before your card was issued? Banking, getting a proper phone plan, booking train tickets, signing a lease, delivery apps, something else? Not asking for official rules. I am more curious about the real-life bottlenecks people hit in Korea and what workaround was actually worth trying.

The phone number issue hit first for people around me. You can survive on temporary data for a bit, but once banking texts, PASS verification, delivery apps, and account signups start asking for a properly matched Korean identity record, the gap gets annoying fast. The only useful mindset I found was treating the pre-ARC period as a bridge setup, not expecting it to behave like full normal life in Korea.
