How do you usually decide between a local clinic and a big hospital in Korea?

I'm still not fully used to the medical system here and I always feel like I'm either overdoing it or underdoing it. For normal stuff like stomach issues, skin problems, or something that needs a quick check, how do you decide where to go first? Bonus if you have a simple rule of thumb that saved you time.

My rule now is local clinic first unless I need imaging, a specialist referral, or something feels genuinely outside the “normal sick person” range. In Korea, neighborhood ENT, 내과, dermatology, and ortho clinics handle a surprising amount quickly, and the big hospitals make more sense when the clinic points you there or the problem keeps dragging on. It saves a lot of time once you stop treating every issue like it needs a university hospital.
